There is something powerful in a way a woman looks up to another.
When it’s not your mother
Nor a friend who has always been there,
But someone who falls into your life for a purpose.
You keep growing the way blackberries grow.
Strong and difficult to contain.
Nothing will stop you from finding a way to sprout more roots.
If anything tries to stop you,
You have thorns to fight back.
But anything that has a chance to taste
How wonderful you are, will be in awe of
Who you truly are.
With having a few years more than I,
I’m aware that where you are
Is where I want to be.
I watched you find a career.
I watched you find passions.
I watched you fall in love.
I see the way you hold yourself through life
And I want to carry myself the way you do.
Your liveliness gives me life.
Thank you for being my biggest role model.
Note- I love you Ellie! You’re going to have such an amazing experience creating a life down in San Diego and I’m so happy that you have found the next chapter in your life. And I am so stoked that now I have such a great excuse to go visit you down in California. So many memories are yet to come for us, and I can’t wait to be friends with you for the rest of my life. You have impacted me in so many ways. I truly believe everything happens for a reason, and I think that I knew deep down that I needed to transfer to the Dutch Brothers you were at. Thank you for making the most challenging chapter of my life yet, seem so easy. I really couldn’t have gone through everything I did without seeing where you were taking your life. You gave me an idea of how I want my life to be and you will always be one of my best friends because of that. You are so beautiful and strong! This world is such better place with you on it.
