The sun beams like a spotlight
Shining through miles to reflect
Perfection in a soft image.
Everything smiles in her presence
And sings along to her sweet melody.
When she dances, we all dance.
The way she holds herself
Pulls our eyes in her direction.
She’s got a flower in her hair
And it’s almost as if the flower
Wants to be there more than
She wants it to be there.
As she stands in a field
The flowers ensemble around her,
Tugging her curls along
With the currents of the air.
When she looks at the world
She sees beauty in all,
But she’s lost as to why
Beauty has forgotten to choose her.
Sweet girl, take a breathe.
You are the beauty I hold
Through the thorns of ugliness.
Because nothing could be as ugly
When standing next to you.
Note- I wrote this poem because someone that is very close to me struggles with seeing how beautiful she really is. Sometimes in this society it can get hard to maintain a healthy image about yourself when it’s being drowned out by all the other noise. I wanted to portray how deep her beauty actually lays. It’s not just her looks that make her beautiful; It’s her spirit, aura, and soul. Everything about this girl is amazing, but she struggles to see it. Please use my words and see yourself! I love you sis.

I think of you when I read this because you lift everyone around you and make them happy, and you see beauty in everything. It is awesome you see it in others,

Iβd have to agree with Karin Glade, I think of you when I read this. And In the last few stanzas where an outside source reminds the girl she is beautiful, I feel as though hats a metaphor for who ever or what ever fuels your joy π
I love you Becca
