My Porch

The sparkle that appears while I close my eyes.
Reminds me of the tickles that sunbeams
Give me laying under the sun.
The tune of a song that enters my eardrum
Sends a mood through every nerve of my body.
Watching the grass move to currents of the wind
Reminds me of how we hold ourselves through life.
Moving back and forth but secured by roots.
As I sit here taking in audio and visual stimuli
I think about how i am my surroundings.
I have the ability to create what engulfs my life,
And I choose to make it feel as good as this.
